At Pound & Paisa, we believe you deserve to know exactly how this site works and how it is funded. This page explains our affiliate relationships clearly and honestly.

What is an affiliate link?

Some links on this site are affiliate links. This means that if you click a link and go on to sign up for or purchase a product or service, we may receive a commission from the provider. This comes at no additional cost to you — the price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the provider.

What we link to and why

We only include affiliate links to products and services that we have personally researched and believe are genuinely useful for UK-based Indians. We will never recommend a product solely because it pays a commission. Our editorial content — articles, tools, newsletters, and calculators — is written independently of any commercial relationship.

If we don't think a product is worth recommending, we won't link to it regardless of whether an affiliate programme exists.

Current affiliate categories

We may currently have affiliate or referral relationships with providers in the following categories:

• Money transfer services — such as Wise, Remitly, and similar platforms used to send money between the UK and India
• Investment and ISA platforms — UK-based platforms for stocks and shares ISAs, index funds, and general investment accounts
• Savings and current accounts — UK bank accounts and savings products relevant to NRIs
• Insurance and protection products — life insurance, income protection, and other products relevant to UK-based Indians with financial ties to India
• Tax and accounting tools — software or services relevant to DTAA, self-assessment, or cross-border tax filing

How affiliate income is used

Affiliate income helps fund the running costs of the platform — hosting, tools, research, and content production. It allows us to keep the free tier genuinely free. Alongside membership income, a portion also goes directly to funding girls' education in India through the Nanhi Kali programme by Mahindra Foundation UK, as part of The Pledge.

ASA and UK advertising standards

In line with guidance from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), we ensure that any content containing affiliate links is clearly written in our own independent voice and reflects our honest assessment. We do not accept payment to write positive reviews, to feature a product, or to recommend anything we do not genuinely believe in. Sponsored or paid content, if ever published, will always be clearly labelled as such.

Membership income

In addition to affiliate income, this platform is funded through Inner Circle memberships at £9.99/month or £79.99/year, processed by Stripe on behalf of Pamtechno Ltd. Membership fees go directly to running and developing the platform and to our commitment to fund girls' education in India. Membership content is editorially independent — no product or provider can purchase inclusion in member-only tools, calculators, or deep dives.

If you ever have a question about whether a specific recommendation on this site is affiliated, please ask. We will always answer honestly. Our long-term credibility with our audience matters more to us than any single commission. If you feel we have fallen short of this standard at any point, we want to hear about it.
